Comic 4 - Checking the merchandise
Tess Durban and Aideen O'Neill are standing in front of a merchandise stand. Behind it, an older man is grinning benevelontly. The stall has T-shirts, vinyl albums, CDs and other merchandise, all of which heavily focuses on the visual motif with the letter 'X' on either side. Tess holds up a roll of tape.
Tess: CD's… vinyl… T-shirts and… rolls of black electrical tape?
Aideen: Come on, buy the electrical tape. You know you want to!
Panel 2:
The merchandise stand guy unrolls a roll of the tape to show it off.
Merchandise stand guy: It's not just any old tape. See? It's watermarked with the Cult of XünÿX logo.
Aideen: So you too can have Cult of XünÿX on your nippled.
Panel 3:
Tess pensively holds up the roll of tape. The background goes dark.
Tess: Y'know, I-
Aideen: Show's starting.
Panel 4:
The Cult of XünÿX enters the stage. Their keyboardist, on stage right, is a sullen looking older man in a trench coat with tall spiky hair and a long spiky beard. The singer is also an older man wearing a Gothic parody of a 1950s rocker's quiff and a trenchcoat. He is carrying a guitar that is just on the right side of being more suited to a trash metal band. From stage left, further in the background, the bassist and drummer walk on. The bassist, a large skinhead in a trench coat and top hat, waves cheerfully at the audience. The drummer, a woman dressed in punk rock style but with electrical tape on her nipples, flips the audience the bird.
